楼主这个让我也纠结了,'s所有格和of所有格有时候真的很难抉择
's一般表示有生命的东西,少数无生命的表示时间、距离、自然现象的名词也可以使用,这里可能就使用到这一点.但很难区分
我们只好从侧重点来区分了
the earth's surface 强调的是surface
the surface of earth 强调的是earth
而此处显然是地面覆盖了雪,强调的是面,故选择B

earth这种特有名词，必须要在前面加the 的 所以 a是不对的 b是对的
